From Haneda & Narita to Central Tokyo

Two Major Airports

Haneda Airport (HND)

Closer to central Tokyo (30-40 minutes). Recommended for most travelers.

Narita Airport (NRT)

Further from central Tokyo (60-90 minutes). Handles many international long-haul flights.

From Haneda Airport

Tokyo Monorail

  • Destination: Hamamatsucho Station
  • Time: 17 minutes
  • Cost: ¥500
  • Frequency: Every 4-10 minutes

Connect to JR Yamanote Line for central Tokyo. Best for destinations on the Yamanote Line.

Keikyu Line

  • Destination: Shinagawa / Asakusa
  • Time: 11-25 minutes
  • Cost: ¥300-¥500
  • Frequency: Every 10-15 minutes

Direct access to Asakusa Line. Good for eastern Tokyo destinations.

Limousine Bus

  • Destination: Major hotels/stations
  • Time: 30-60 minutes
  • Cost: ¥1,000-1,300

Comfortable direct service to major hotels and stations. Good with heavy luggage.

Taxi

  • Destination: Anywhere
  • Time: 30-60 minutes
  • Cost: ¥6,000-10,000

Most convenient but expensive. Fixed-price options available to certain areas.

Step-by-Step Guide from Haneda

Recommended: Tokyo Monorail → JR Yamanote Line

Step 1

After collecting your luggage, follow signs to "Trains" or "Tokyo Monorail"

Step 2

Purchase a ticket at the ticket machines (¥500 to Hamamatsucho) or use your SUICA card

Step 3 & 4

Board the Tokyo Monorail at Terminal 3 or Terminal 2. Ride 17 minutes to Hamamatsucho Station.

Step 5 & 6

Transfer to JR Yamanote Line (follow green line signs). Take the Yamanote Line to your destination.

Pro Tip: For the conference venue (Myogadani), take Yamanote Line to Tokyo Station, then transfer to Marunouchi Line.

From Narita Airport

Narita Express (N'EX)

  • Destination: Tokyo / Shibuya / Shinjuku
  • Time: 53-80 minutes
  • Cost: ¥3,070 (Tokyo Station)

Most comfortable and fastest train option. Reserved seating. Free WiFi.

Keisei Skyliner

  • Destination: Nippori / Ueno
  • Time: 36-41 minutes
  • Cost: ¥2,520

Fastest option to Ueno area. Connect to JR lines or Tokyo Metro.

Limousine Bus

  • Destination: Major hotels/stations
  • Time: 75-120 minutes
  • Cost: ¥3,200

Direct service to major hotels. Comfortable with luggage storage.

Access Express

  • Destination: Asakusa / Nihombashi
  • Time: 57-67 minutes
  • Cost: ¥1,330

Budget-friendly option. Non-reserved seating. Good for eastern Tokyo.

Step-by-Step Guide from Narita

Recommended: Narita Express (N'EX) to Tokyo Station

Step 1

After customs, follow signs to "Railways" (Basement Floor).

Step 2

Purchase a ticket for Narita Express (Red machines) or Skyliner (Blue machines). Reserved seating only.

Step 3

Proceed to the platform shown on your ticket. N'EX is usually red, Skyliner is blue.

Step 4

Ride to Tokyo Station (approx. 60 mins). From there, transfer to Marunouchi Line for Myogadani.

Important Tips

Payment Methods

IC cards (SUICA/PASMO) work on all transportation. Purchase at the airport for convenience. Cash is also widely accepted.

Luggage

All trains have space for luggage. Limousine buses have dedicated luggage compartments. Consider luggage delivery services for heavy bags.

Airport WiFi

Free WiFi available throughout both airports. Look for "FreeWiFi@Airport" network. Helpful for checking directions.

Rush Hour Alert

Avoid traveling during morning rush hour (7:30-9:30 AM) and evening rush hour (5:30-7:30 PM) if possible. Trains can be extremely crowded.
